The TOA Hotel & Spa Zanzibar is a luxurious five-star resort located on a private white-sand beach in Pongwe, on the east coast of Zanzibar. The development of this upscale property was completed in approximately 18 months, with the hotel opening its doors in May 2022.
Development and Features
The hotel comprises 86 elegantly designed rooms and suites, ranging from 35 to 60 square meters. Accommodations include Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Honeymoon Suites with private plunge pools, and Royal Suites featuring outdoor jacuzzis. Each room is equipped with modern amenities such as air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and private balconies or terraces offering garden or ocean views.
The resort boasts three swimming pools, a full-service spa with treatment rooms, a sun deck, a fitness center, and multiple dining options, including a restaurant serving Indian Ocean-inspired cuisine and three bars, one of which is a swim-up bar. Guests can also enjoy various activities such as snorkeling, diving, spice farm tours, and visits to nearby attractions like Stone Town and Prison Island.
Future Prospects
Toa is currently in the process of building an additional 12 luxury villas, which will include exclusive gym and spa facilities, further enhancing the high-end experience offered within the development.
